Legal Efforts to Restore the Religious Exemption for Daycare and Education in Connecticut
On April 27, 2021, Connecticut's legislature removed the Religious Exemption to state required immunizations for childcare facilities, K-12 education and college. Thousands rallied against this legislation at the Capitol, over 2000 opposed testimonies where submitted by residents in a hearing that was limited to 24 hours online. Two lawsuits have been filed, one by We The Patriots USA and one by Attorney Jim Mermigis, Lindy Urso and Kevin Barry. An additional lawsuit effort has been announced by Attorney Aaron Siri and ICAN Decide.
