Religious Exemption Advocacy in Connecticut
In 2021, CTRAMM brought thousands to the State Capitol to oppose the Senate vote on the bill that removed YOUR right to claim a Religious Exemption for your children for Daycares, K-12 education and Higher Education in Connecticut.
Religious Exemptions for Employment
REMAIN PROTECTED
While the religious exemption for education has been removed in Connecticut, it remains a federally protected right for employment under Civil Rights Act of 1964. This law ensures that employers must reasonably accommodate employees' sincerely held religious beliefs unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on the business.
In addition to federal protections, Connecticut state law also upholds these rights under Connecticut General Statutes § 46a-60 (CGS § 46a-60), which prohibits discrimination based on religion in the workplace.
At CTRAMM, we’re committed to supporting your rights. That’s why we offer a Religious Exemption Writing Webinar to guide you through the process of crafting a strong and clear religious exemption request. This resource is available exclusively to our members.
