RELIGIOUS EXEMPTION FOR EMPLOYMENT
The Religious Exemption is a protected right for employment under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, read the Connecticut State statute here: (CGS § 46a-60). UNDERSTANDING THE BILL PROCESS IN CONNECTICUT
Proposed Bill: a proposed bill is a bill drafted by a member of the General Assembly with informal language. The proposed bill is then sent to the appropriate committee for review.
Committee Bill: when a committee receives a proposed bill they can either ignore it or call it to be heard in the committee. If the proposed bill is called the Committee can vote to amend or rewrite the bill or combine multiple bills and have it drafted in formal, statutory (legal) language as a Committee Bill.
Raised Bill: a raised bill is an original bill drafted in formal statutory language by a committee.

Religious Exemption for Daycare and K-12In 2021, in a partisan effort, Governor Ned Lamont and the majority of Democrats in the House and Senate voted to remove the Religious Exemption to state required immunizations for daycare, preschool, K-12 education and college. There are multiple lawsuits attempting to overturn the removal of the Religious Exemption. Follow Lawsuit effort to repeal the removal of the Religious Exemption for education and childcare.
