To establish a working group to study the issue of online harassment of individuals and make recommendations concerning necessary changes in state law to penalize online harassment of individuals and guidelines for reporting online harassment of municipal and state-elected officials.

ISSUE: HB6410 will create a working group to censor and fine Connecticut residents online.
BILL UPDATE: HB6410 passed out of the Government Administration and Elections Committee in a partisan effort. The bill still needs to be voted on in the House and the Senate, then signed into law by the Governor.

ISSUE: SB1 will mandate comprehensive sex education and affirming care. The Connecticut Department of Education has developed "Core Content Indicators" for "Sexual Health" which includes:
- the role of masturbation for 8 year old children
- an ability to explain "vaginal, anal, oral" sex, "the potential of hormone blockers" the ability to define and explain cisgender, transgender, gender nonbinary, gender expansive and gender identity." for grade 6-8

BILL UPDATE: (3/24/2023, 1:35PM) All language pertaining to mandating "comprehensive sex education and affirming care" has been removed from SB1 but the bill has passed out of the Education Committee. CTRAMM will continue to monitor this bill.

SB 244: AN ACT CONCERNING ELIGIBILITY TO HOLD PUBLIC OFFICE OR BE EMPLOYED BY THE STATE OR ANY MUNICIPALITY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: 1 That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to provide that any 2 person convicted of sedition, insurrection, rebellion or a felony in 3 relation to any such act shall permanently (1) forfeit such person's right 4 to be an elector and such person's privileges as an elector, and (2) be 5 prohibited from (A) being a candidate for or holding public office in the 6 state, and (B) being employed by the state or any political subdivision 7 thereof. Statement of Purpose: To provide that convicts of certain crimes shall permanently (1) forfeit their electoral rights and privileges, and (2) be prohibited from employment by the state or any political subdivision thereof.
ISSUE: SB244 prevents residents that attended the Jan 6th protests from running for office or working for the state or a subdivision.
